Under federal law, special education (SPED) records collected by the Blue Hill School District relating to SPED services must be retained for at least five years after services have ended. Before the destruction of special education records, individuals 18 years of age and older or parents/guardians of dependent individuals have the right to review and/or obtain copies of these records. Records on students who were enrolled in a special education program are scheduled for destruction on June 1, 2024.
