The requirements for a Local Substitute Permit (for those who don't have a teaching certificate) include the following:
An application and fee in the TEACH system (Please note that registration for TEACH is required before an application can be submitted.)
Fingerprints (Only required if someone has lived outside of Nebraska in the past five years.)
Transcript(s) showing at least 60 semester credit hours

Nebraska Indian Community College – NICC offers online (including virtual and/or blended) course options in Fall, Spring, and select Summer Terms. For the 2024-2025 Academic Year, the cost per course is $1/credit hour. More information on NICC can be found on their website at www.thenicc.edu
