Winter

As temperatures drop, we want to remind all parents and guardians about the importance of dressing children warmly for school. This past week, we’ve noticed many students arriving in light jackets or without coats at all, despite the frigid weather. To ensure the safety and well-being of all our students, please take note of the following:

Outdoor Recess Guidelines: We go outside for recess as long as the wind chill is above single digits. Children must come to school prepared with warm winter clothing, including a heavy coat, gloves, a hat, and other appropriate layers.

Bus Riders: Students who ride the bus must be dressed appropriately in case of emergencies or unexpected delays, such as a breakdown. Warm clothing could make a critical difference in keeping your child safe and comfortable during such situations.

Need Assistance? If your child is in need of a winter coat, gloves, or a hat, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help! Contact Mrs. Toepfer at 402-756-2085 or via email at Loritoepfer@bluehillschools.org.

Holiday Schedule Reminder: School will be dismissed at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 20th, for the Holiday break. Classes will resume on Monday, January 6th.

Let’s work together to keep our kids safe and warm this winter. Thank you for your attention to this important matter!
